can be found directly across the street
from the Columbia County Courthouse- the oldest working Courthouse
in Washington State (1887). Dayton also boasts the oldest train depot
in the State (1881), and both buildings have been restored to their original
splendor. Platted and named in 1871, Dayton was founded on the Lewis &
